New Path Forward
A Safe, Sacred Place in Your Journey Toward Healing
Male graduates of Friendship House’s Adult Treatment Program now have a new option for bridge housing during their ongoing recovery. The New Path Forward Recovery Lodge is a bridge housing initiative funded by the Behavioral Health Bridge Housing (BHBH) grant. This new program provides interim supportive housing 10 blocks from the main site, ensuring Native American men who have completed residential treatment have safe, culturally grounded housing while preparing for long-term stability.
The lodge will:
Provide 30 beds for Native men completing residential SUD treatment.
Support participants in maintaining sobriety, achieving housing stability, and preparing for economic independence.
Deliver culturally grounded, trauma-informed services, including traditional healing, talking circles, individual counseling, and 12-step programs.
Facilitate access to Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and behavioral health services, integrated with case management and housing navigation.
Ongoing Care Grounded in Our Culture
Residents receive support from Native staffers who have lived experience dealing with substance use disorder. Lodge residents receive:
Supportive Services: Daily SUD classes, weekly individual counseling, 12-step meetings, and bi-weekly talking circles. Case management and housing navigation help participants transition to permanent housing and employment opportunities.
Cultural & Community Integration: Culturally specific practices, community ceremonies, and mentorship programs rebuild tribal connections and personal resilience.
Family & Community Support: Case managers provide resources to reconnect participants with families and community networks, supporting holistic recovery.
